Midsommar in Farsta, Stockholm

This was my first Midsommar in Sweden. As St. Johannes’ Night is celebrated in certain parts of Hungary, I was curious how does it go here in Scandinavian.

Hundreds of people gathered outside of Farsta which is a Southern suburb of Stockholm.

Ring dances around the Majstång which means literally “greened pole,” from the old Swedish verb “maja” meaning “to make green.”

Couple dance performance on the stage, accompanied by a fiddle and an accordeon
